Overview of the Polycom VoiceStation 300 Conference Phone (Analogue)
The Polycom Voicestation 300 Conference phone is a great solution for people looking to connect to a normal phone system. It’s designed to allow up to 6 participants in a meeting room and the sound quality is very good. For most conferencing requirements this is a very affordable solution offering full duplex communication. The Polycom 300 phone features compact styling and easy-to-use design, and as well as being small in size.
How does it connect to my phone system?
The Polycom 300 unit connects to an analogue extension on your phone system. If you don’t already have this done you will need to have your phone technician install this for you for the unit to work.
There’s no display
The Polycom Voicestation 300 Conference phone has a keypad but no display. This means you don’t get the features like menu, or seeing the number you’ve called. If you conference regularly then this is a handy feature and you’d be better paying a little more for something like a Polycom Soundstation 2 non expandable with display, a ClearOne Max or the Konftel 250.
Smart features to help you communicate better
The Polycom VoiceStation 300 conference phone leverages Polycom's award-winning Acoustic Clarity to offer clear, full duplex communication. Unlike older speaker phones, this 2-way technology means callers can talk back and forth to each other simultaneously without the phone speaker repeatedly stopping and starting, resulting in clear, seamless conversations.
Convenient controls for volume, mute, redial, flash and hold are located on an intuitive, easy-to-use keypad. A handset phone can be plugged in for private calls, or simply switch back to the VoiceStation 300 for hands-free conversations.
The Voice Station 300 also uses Dynamic Noise Reduction to automatically adapt to the room environment to eliminate echoes and clipping, making conference calls clearer and more productive than ever. Add three built-in microphones that pick up sound up from 2 metres away, and you have a conference phone that lets you speak naturally and be heard clearly from anywhere in the room.
Alternative Conference Phones to consider
For a small meeting room the Polycom Voicestation 300 is great. The limitation is that it doesn’t work with anything else like computers or mobile phones. If you want that then check out the Polycom 500 as it offers Bluetooth as well as stereo cables to connect to your PC’s soundcard.
In reality you may be better served spending just a little more and upgrading to the
Soundstation 2 range as you get the options of more participants, expandable microphones as well as better microphones and also a display.
For most small applications the Polycom Voicestation 300 conference phone is a very good solution.
